Requirements: • Only open to City, County, State, Correctional or Law Enforcement agencies. (Must have a valid ID). • No cell phones or wireless devices. Must follow screening procedures. • No non-U.S. citizens. FCI Englewood offers many program opportunities for inmates. The VETS Program is a residential program focusing on service-related issues, skill development and veteran specific reentry services. Other opportunities include apprenticeships, a dog trainer VT program, trauma treatment program, as well as group activities focused on structured group activities and community activities.

Number of Participants: 15 per tour Distance/Time: 30-minute presentation followed by a 2.5-hour walking tour (DRDC and DWCF) Distance/Miles: 12.3 miles from Colorado Convention Center The Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center (DRDC) is the entry point for everyone entering the Colorado Department of Corrections. Since opening in 1991, DRDC has conducted initial assessments to help determine the best placement for each individual. It also provides essential medical services including a dialysis unit and houses a small group of long-term residents who help support day-to-day operations. Next door, the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility (DWCF) opened in 1998 and is the largest women’s prison in Colorado. It houses individuals across all security levels and offers a range of specialized programs. These include care for pregnant individuals, treatment for medical and mental health needs, and a unique Mom Baby Unit that allows mothers to bond with their newborns in a supportive environment. DWCF also partners with community organizations to offer programs such as a dog training-providing therapeutic benefits to both the handlers and the animals.
