Denver Complex (DRDC/DW) Dates: Friday, Aug. 22 nd and Monday, Aug. 25 th Drop-off Address: 10900 Smith Road, Denver, CO 80239 (DRDC side) Pick-Up Location: Colorado Convention Center Distance: 12.3 miles (approximately 45 minutes or longer with city traffic) Suggested Pick-Up Times: • A.M. Tour: Pick-up at 7:15 a.m. (or earlier, depending on traffic) to arrive at DRDC by 8 a.m., allowing time for security clearance. • P.M. Tour: Pick-up at 12:15 p.m. (or earlier, depending on traffic) to arrive at DRDC by 1 p.m., allowing time for clearance. Tour Start Times at DRDC:

DWCF is also home to one of the nine Prison Trained K-9 Companion Programs, launched by Colorado Correctional Industries more than 20 years ago and recently highlighted in the PBS documentary Nothing Safer. Together, these facilities provide critical care, support, and structure to help individuals begin their time in custody with dignity and the resources they need. Tour Structure: Each tour will begin with a 30-minute presentation in the DRDC Training Room, followed by a 2.5-hour walking tour through both DRDC and DWCF. Total Duration: 3 hours per tour (presentation + walking tour) Number of Participants: Maximum of 15 per tour Walking Distance: Approximately 1.75 miles (Surfaces include sidewalks and concrete floors; some areas have stairs, but elevators are available in most locations.) Denver County Jail Dates: Sunday, Aug. 24 th through Tuesday, Aug. 26 th Pick Up Time at Center: 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. on the above dates Time of Tours: 9 a.m., 12 p.m., and 3 p.m. Denver County Jail was first built and opened in 1953. There are many housing levels (custody levels 3-5) and types at the facility from in-direct supervision open housing, 8 person housing, 1-2 person celled units. The majority of our in-custody programming occurs at the jail. Building 24 was recently updated/ renovated noting gender responsive housing for our female persons in custody. The Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center (DRDC) is the starting point for

everyone entering the Colorado Department of Corrections. Opened in 1991, DRDC conducts initial assessments to help determine the best placement for each individual. It also provides essential medical services, including a dialysis unit, and houses a small group of long-term residents who help support daily operations. Located next to DRDC, the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility (DWCF) opened in 1998 and is the largest women’s prison in Colorado. It houses individuals at all security levels and offers several specialized programs, including care for pregnant individuals, treatment for those
