Leveraging Partnerships to Implement Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) for Incarcerated Individuals [CE|CEU] Primary Community of Focus: Prisons & Jails Room: 111 Overview: This presentation will address the challenge of providing Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) services in carceral facilities by sharing the innovative and collaborative approach taken in Allegheny County (PA) to support individuals in the Allegheny County Jail. The presentation will cover lessons learned from the Allegheny County Jail’s strategic phased implementation of MAT services — continuation and induction — for methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone, including how to leverage partnerships throughout the implementation process, and address logistical, regulatory and security challenges. Additionally, we will discuss data tracking and how data can be used to increase transparency and continuously improve MAT services.
