This workshop will discuss the MDOC’s vital documents program, the development of key relationships for the issuance of vital documents, internal processes to ensure widespread impact, how to generate stakeholder and legislative support and expected challenges. There is expanding evidence that the SGLT2i have benefits beyond their glucose-lowering efficacy, resulting in their recognition as cardiorenal medicines and expanded role in treating not only type 2 diabetes mellitus, but heart failure and chronic kidney disease. Several mechanisms for these benefits have been proposed. The review will summarize the evidence for their use. assistance with vital documents.
