C-2C Rehearsing and Exercising Emergency Action Plans Track: Prisons & Jails Room: National Harbor 4

Emergency Action Plans require deliberate planning and resourcing to be successful at various scales and scopes within correctional facilities. This deliberate training can often be difficult to conduct due to constraints with budgets, resources, staffing and time. As such, various levels of plans, rehearsals and exercises can be conducted to validate emergency action plans and refine or revise techniques, tactics and procedures. From small scale tabletop exercises to complex full-scale exercises, and varying levels in between, all facilities should be able to exercise their emergency plans to best prepare their staffs for emergency and train their systems and procedures for a response.
