their supervision related to employment. The benefits of higher education, career, and technical education (CTE) and employment programs for people with criminal records are clear. When incarcerated people complete any higher education, they are 43% less likely to be reincarcerated within three years than those who do not. Those who earn an associate’s or a bachelor’s degree are 70% or nearly 100%, respectively, less likely to be reincarcerated within three years as compared to people returning who do not earn such degrees. CTE is also proven to increase employability for people returning. For instance, people who participated in vocational training were 28% more likely to find employment than people
