Moderators: Aiyahna Banfield , Social Service Program Consultant, Georgia Department of Corrections, Forsyth, Georgia; Lindolyn Green , Social Service Program Consultant, Georgia Department of Corrections, Forsyth, Georgia Speakers: Aiyahna Banfield , Social Service Program Consultant, Georgia Department of Corrections, Forsyth, Georgia; Lindolyn Green , Social Service Program Consultant, Georgia Department of Corrections, Forsyth, Georgia D-1G Alone: Suicide Prevention within the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (CE, CME) Track: Medical Room 203-B A cluster of suicides within Pennsylvania Department of Corrections facilities led to a review of more than 50 years’ worth of suicide data, the identification of an inadvertent error in the DOC’s data collection process, numerous transformative revisions to PDOC’s suicide prevention efforts and ultimately a greater understanding of how to make our prison system safer. Learning Objectives: • Identify and analyze the six housing status categories associated with all suicides that have occurred within the PA DOC since 2000. • Describe reasons why it is believed prison suicides occur so rarely with people who are not housed alone and so often with those who are housed alone. • Explain the revisions the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections has made to their Suicide Prevention policies and practices in response to this housing status data.

Malishchak , DBA, Director of the Psychology Office, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania D-1H Stark County Reentry MOUD Program (CE) Track: Nursing Room 204-A Stark County Jail offers a 30-day drug and alcohol treatment program in a controlled setting that is unique and the first of its kind in Ohio. Individuals are sentenced directly by the judicial system and are court ordered to complete the treatment program. All individuals follow the jail system rules and are housed together. Most of the patients have failed a community program prior to coming to this program. Participants will learn how the program was set up, how the treatment program is managed and why the completion rate is very high. Our recidivism rate is approximately 12% in this certified treatment program. Our staff are certified in substance use and our behavior health team assists in the treatment programs. Learning Objectives: • Participants will learn how the program was set up for success.
