We do this at great risk to our reputation and to our organization. Do our teams feel safe in expressing their opinions and sharing lessons learned? We find fear stifles collaboration, innovative ideas and learning — leadership capacities essential to our success. During this workshop we will explore the art of leading with questions, creating a safe environment and conducting after action reviews with lessons learned that have helped transform teams. We will explore the role of the leader in developing trust and safety using examples of personal sacrifice including stories from the military and corporate sector. Learning Objectives: • Explore leadership styles that foster trust and safety to create collaborative, innovative and learning teams. • Understand the after-action review process and lessons learned from civilian and military leaders. • Learn from personal stories about the difficulties of leadership in complex and ambiguous environments.
