D-1G A Crisis in Corrections; Staff Recruitment and Retention Room 8 In many prisons around the country staff shortage is critical. Some facilities run with less than 50% of their
complement of staff. Staff work overtime, posts are closed, programs are shuttered, and security are at risk. This workshop will highlight two examples of state department of corrections that have taken innovative approaches to recruit and retain staff. Wardens from Alabama and Delaware will speak about what they are doing to address this crisis in corrections. Learning Objectives:
