assignment of inmates to facilities and schedule their rehabilitative programs. Implementation of IADSS has equipped the PA DOC to quickly and more accurately make inmate assignments based on a variety of factors, including security, rehabilitation programming, medical and mental health needs, distance to home, etc. IADSS has enabled the PA DOC to better achieve its goals of reducing inmate populations, minimizing inmate movement between facilities, improving security, and reducing treatment waiting lists — all while maximizing staff productivity. Learning Objectives: • Participants will have a clear understanding of how to improve inmate assignments in corrections. • Participants will have the knowledge of the inmate assignment decision support system. • Participants will have a knowledge of potential use of this technology in other areas of corrections.
