Seclusion/Isolation 5-JCF-5C-47 (Ref 4-JCF-4C-46)
When a juvenile is placed in seclusion/isolation, a qualified health-care pro fessional or health-trained person shall be informed immediately and shall complete an assessment, as determined by the health authority Unless medi cal attention is needed more frequently, each juvenile in seclusion/isolation re ceives a daily visit from a qualified health care professional or health-trained person Comment : The visit ensures juveniles have access to the health care system. A health care provider, who determines the appropriate setting for further medical at tention or examination, evaluates those juveniles who request a health call. Health care providers may request a juvenile be removed from a cell or housing area for medical attention or examination. All health-call encounters are documented in the juvenile’s health-record.

Separation
(Effective NLT January 1, 2024) When a juvenile is placed in separation, a qualified health care professional or health-trained person shall be informed immediately and shall immediately complete an assessment Unless medical attention is needed more frequently, each juvenile in separation receives a daily visit from a qualified health care professional or health-trained person. Comment : The visit ensures that juveniles have access to the health care system.
