Personal Clothing 5-JCF-5B-04 (Ref 4-JCF-4B-04)

When juveniles are admitted, personal clothing shall be properly cleaned and, when necessary, disinfected before storage or before allowing the juvenile to keep and wear the clothes Comment : Personal clothing should be cleaned upon admission to prevent odors and unsanitary conditions. Process Indicators : Cleaning and storage records; observations; interviews. Protective Clothing Protective clothing and equipment are issued to juveniles assigned to work in food service, the garage, the facility physical plant, the maintenance shops, vocational education, and other special work areas Comment : Juveniles assigned to special work areas should be clothed in accor dance with the requirements of their work assignment and, when appropriate, be furnished with suitable protective equipment (for example, face mask, protective helmet, goggles, steel-tipped shoes). Security Garments 5-JCF-5B-06 (Ref 4-JCF-4B-06)

When standard issued clothing presents a security or medical risk, the juve nile is supplied with a security garment that promotes the safety of the juve nile and prevents humiliation and degradation
