Major Rule Violation 5-JCF-4A-14 (Ref 4-JCF-3B-10)
When a juvenile has been charged with a major rule violation requiring con finement, the juvenile may be confined for a period of up to 24 hours for the safety of the juvenile, other juveniles, or to ensure the security of the facility The administrator or designee who was not involved in the incident reviews confinement for periods of more than 24 hours every 24 hours.

(Effective NLT January 1, 2024) Separation shall never be the result of a dis ciplinary sanction Comment : Separation is an immediate response to a juvenile’s disruptive behavior or behavior that threatens the safety and security of the juvenile or others. Every effort shall be made by staff and service providers to safely return the juvenile to the normal daily program as soon as possible.
