If the juvenile facility is on the grounds of any other type of correctional facil ity, it is a separate, self-contained unit

Process Indicators : Observations.

Lighting 5-JCF-1A-05 (Ref 4-JCF-1A-05)

Lighting in the facility is appropriate for the task being performed but at least 20 foot-candles at desk level and in personal grooming areas Natural light in housing areas is available from an opening or window that has a view to the outside or from a source within 20 feet of the room Measurements are docu mented by a qualified source not less than once per accreditation cycle.

Comment : Accreditation cycle is the three-year cycle between audits.
