Juveniles or groups of juveniles are not given control or authority over other juveniles Comment : Although many programs use forms of group accountability, they clear ly describe the difference between accountability and giving individual juveniles control over other juveniles.

Permanent Log 5-JCF-2A-10 (Ref 4-JCF-2A-10)

Correctional staff on each housing unit, on each shift, maintain a permanent log and prepare shift reports that record routine information, emergency sit uations, and unusual incidents Comment : Adequate supervision of juveniles requires a formal written reporting system of detailed records of pertinent information regarding individual juveniles and groups of juveniles.

Unit Patrols and Inspections 5-JCF-2A-11 (Ref 4-JCF-2A-11)

Supervisory staff conduct a daily inspection, of all areas occupied by juveniles and submit a daily written report to their supervisor Unoccupied areas are to be inspected weekly
