Coordination and Documentation 5-JCF-5E-05 (Ref 4-JCF-4E-05)

In facilities where juveniles have access to a chemical-dependency program, the facility uses a coordinated staff approach to deliver substance-abuse and chemical-dependency treatment services This approach to service delivery shall be documented in treatment-planning conferences and in individual treatment files. Comment : Chemical-dependency treatment is not limited to the therapeutic com munity.

Process Indicators : Treatment team minutes; treatment plans; staff and juvenile signatures on plans; treatment files.

Treatment Incentives 5-JCF-5E-06 (Ref 4-JCF-4E-06)

In facilities where juveniles have access to a chemical-dependency program, the substance abuse and chemical-dependency treatment program provides incentives for targeted treatment achievements to increase and maintain the juvenile’s motivation for treatment Comment : Chemical-dependency treatment is not limited to the therapeutic com munity.

Protocols : Written policy and procedure.

Process Indicators : Certificates of achievement; letters of commendation to juve nile and/or family; published list of treatment incentives; level-system rewards.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Education 5-JCF-5E-07 (Ref 4-JCF-4E-07)

All juveniles are provided alcohol and drug-abuse education by a qualified individual

Comment : None.

Protocols : Written policy and procedure; written curriculum.

Process Indicators : Juvenile attendance records; pre- and post-tests; qualifications of staff.
