Brenda J. Boyd (TN) Director of Clinical Support Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC)
Brenda J. Boyd is a licensed registered nurse with extensive skills in three distinct but comple - mentary medical areas, including Correctional Management, Intensive Care Unit, Medical Surgery, and Case Management. Since 2007, Boyd has worked with several TDOC contracted vendors in several positions, to include director of Nursing, health services administration, statewide director of Nursing and regional administrator. Boyd received her A.D.N in nursing and B.S. in political scienc - es from Tennessee State University. She is currently serving as the director of Clinical Support for TDOC. She serves on the ACA Behavioral Health, Health Care and Nursing Committees.
Xyzeidria Ensley (TN) Director of Behavioral Health Services Davidson County Sheriff’s Office
Dr. Xyzeidria Ensley, Ph.D. has worked in the field of corrections for over 15 years, providing clients therapeutic choices to integrate into their daily lives. Since 2005, she has worked for the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in two positions, first as a mental health case manager and five years as the director of Behavioral Health Services. Her passion for service led her to earn her Ph.D. in clinical counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. She currently serves on the Substance Use Disorder and the Behavioral Health Subcommittees for ACA. She is a recognized mental health trainer for ACA, SAMHSA’s GAINS Center, and International Association of Correctional Training Personnel (IATCP). She holds mem - bership in the American Counseling Association, American Jail Association, and Tennessee Licensure for Professional Counselors.
Shelly Viets (OH) Clinical Healthcare Specialist Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction
Since 1997, Shelly Viets has worked for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction in several positions including staff nurse, healthcare administrator, regional nurse administrator, director of Nursing and clinical healthcare specialist. Viets received her Registered Nursing degree in 1996. She is currently serving as the chair of the ACA Healthcare Committee, sits on the Nurses Commit - tee, Mental Health Committee, Substance Use Disorder Committee and Dental Committee. She was one of the first members of the Nurses Committee. Viets plans to use her corrections and jail healthcare experience and correctional committees work to represent and actively participate in the development of programs and policies for ACA as a member of the Delegate Assembly.
