Certification Spotlight

Miscellaneous All additional experience/miscel- laneous activities must be submitted with a detailed description of the event, including how it related to the field, how it relates to your specific role in corrections and what your learning were, along with completed documentation to account for the event. ACA also offers retirees an exceptional opportunity to receive “lifetime” Emeritus Certification status. In order to qualify for the Emeritus status, the corrections professional must have reached the age of 65 and had been certified for Retirees

a minimum of six years. A profes- sional who has been certified for 24 years, may also apply for and receive “lifetime” Emeritus Certifi- cation status. The purpose of recertification is to continue the professional ca- reer path, furthering education and personal growth. By continually recertifying, corrections profession- als show a dedication to their field and exhibit the desire to uphold the highest standards. So don’t hold back and start thinking of ways in which you can earn credits toward recertification.
