Juvenile Corrections The Juvenile Corrections course package is tailored to those who work specifically with the juvenile population. If you currently work with juveniles or are even curious about learning more, this course is perfect for you! This package highlights the prevalence of mental health issues involving juveniles and appropriate ways to manage this population. There are currently 7 individual courses that tackle juve- nile related topics with some of them including: –– Duties of Juvenile Carework- ers — examines the juvenile careworker’s role as a role model, supervisor, and leader. –– Managing Juvenile Offenders with Mental Illness — you will learn how to identify juvenile offenders with mental illness, both during and after the intake process. –– Preventing Suicides in Juve- nile Corrections — gives you a basic understanding of suicidal behavior by dispelling the com- mon myths surrounding suicide and identifying the risk factors and protective factors associ- ated with suicide.

Supervision/Management ACA’s Supervision/Management course package offers valuable tools for supervisors in developing their supervision skills and strategies to effectively manage the correctional population as well as working with their peers. This course package is an affordable one that provides insight on supervision within a correctional setting. Providing top-notch leader- ship is crucial to the operations of an institution – this course allows you to sharpen your tools through 5 indi- vidual courses. –– Becoming an Effective Correctional Supervisor — examines the skills necessary to become an effective supervisor, allow you to evaluate yourself in important supervisory areas, and increase your awareness of newly discovered skills. – – Motivating Correctional Staff — provides leaders with the tools to motivate staff. –– Teamwork — learn how to build an effective team and be a valuable team member.
