Leading with Insight: Cultivating Self-Awareness for Effective Leadership Room W240 D Overview: As organizations increasingly adopt hybrid work models, leaders face unique challenges in managing and engaging teams. This interactive workshop focuses on the crucial leadership competency of self-awareness, Participants will explore strategies to enhance their self-awareness, improve communication and foster team cohesion, regardless of physical location. It is widely acknowledged that policy should be informed by the people it most directly impacts, a concept summed aptly by the popular phrase ‘nothing about us without us’ However, corrections, has been slow to include individuals with previous arrest and incarceration history at the table. This panel will showcase collaborations between individuals with lived experience and correctional professionals to create, improve and enhance existing programs and services for those currently incarcerated. I Hate the Dentist [CE/CERP] Room W240 A

Overview: To discuss the misconceptions of the dental world and the unique challenges we face in relationship to both public perception and care. To demystify and clarify the multifaceted and interdisciplinary roles of dentistry in both the correctional and public setting. The presentation will serve to: A) Shift the paradigm of the audience towards a positive and accurate understanding of the dental field, B) Highlight critical areas of dentistry that are often over-looked in the field in corrections, and C) Exemplify the correlation of oral health with substance abuse outcomes and mental health modalities. Learning Objectives: • Understand comprehensive solutions for improving interdisciplinary case outcomes by incorporating oral health considerations for both mental health and MAT programs. • Establish a baseline recognition of the necessity for inclusion of the dental professional in formulating critical policies affecting the dental field. • Provide a more accurate perspective for the critical role of general dentistry in the correctional setting.
