Game Changer: How a Secured Wireless Network is Changing Education in High Security in Ohio. Room W240 C Overview: The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction has created a robust hybrid education system on a secured wireless network which has been beneficial to delivering educational opportunities to those in Ohio’s highest security prisons. In Ohio robust education continues even while a person is housed in our highest security status. Instead of worksheets and other traditional methods, Ohio students are able to continue education services through virtual google classrooms, accessing educational apps and other opportunities. In this model students access many educational tools through laptops on a secured wireless network, can receive a virtual classroom through those devices and may have in person classes from the security standpoint there is less movement of high security and from education, there is continuity of care. A win-win for all.
