Angela Geisinger (FL) Senior Director of Education and Programs The GEO Group

Angela Geisinger, M.Ed. has had more than 20 years of service with incarcerated juvenile and adult offenders at non-profit, public, and private sector employers. Geisinger currently serves as the Sr. Director of Education and Programs for The GEO Group. As the Senior Director of Programs, Geisinger provides oversight of Academics, Career & Technical education programming, Case Man agement, Substance Abuse Treatment services, Faith & Character Services, Family Services, Peer mentoring & Alumni Services. Geisinger received her M.Ed. in Foundations of Education from Troy University and is a graduate of Valdosta State University, Langdale College of Business. Peggy Kaiser (VA) Executive Director Correctional Education Association (CEA) Peggy Kaiser began her correctional career as an Adult Basic Education instructor in a maximum-security prison eventually teaching in a medium-security institution, working as the Department of Corrections (DOC) Academic Coordinator, and as an institution and statewide Education Director. Between 2007 and 2018, Peggy left the DOC and worked for the Wisconsin Technical College System as the Education Director for Adult Basic Education. Her last assignment before retiring from state service in June 2022 was the Deputy Warden at Prairie du Chien Correctional Institution. Kaiser is currently the Executive Director for the Correctional Education Association (CEA). She has been a member of CEA since 1996 and served on the Wisconsin State Chapter Board for 22 years. She has served on the CEA Nation al Board for 15 years and as the National President from 2017 – 2018. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and a M.S. in Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Dr. Amy Lopez is a federal appointee and nationally recognized expert who designs and deliv ers innovative correctional educational programming for incarcerated adults and juveniles and training for the staff entrusted with their care. A pioneer in launching first-of-their-kind programs on positive behavior interventions, leveraging technology to connect incarcerated individuals with educational and legal resources, and implementing innovative trauma-informed staff training to de-escalate crisis situations, Lopez leads the way in effective problem solving, working with thought-leaders to create solutions that improve staff performance, build a positive organizational culture, and increase institutional safety, as well as improving educational and recidivism outcomes . Featured in stories on national PBS and NPR broadcasts, The Washington Post, and The Huffington Post, among others, Lopez provides evidence and research-based solutions to any challenge.
