This session will explore various aspects of wellness, including mental and physical health, and provide practical strategies for building healthy and resilient employees. Participants will also learn about effective behavior change strategies related to nutrition and incorporating activities such as yoga, gym workouts, and meditation into their daily routines. Learning Objectives: • Participants will explore the multifaceted nature of wellness and its relevance to correctional nurses. • Attendees will acquire practical strategies to promote and sustain employee wellness within the challenging environment of correctional facilities. • Participants will be equipped with effective behavior change approaches to help themselves and their colleagues adopt healthier lifestyles. Research has emphasized the impact of education and other programming on positive outcomes for restored citizens upon release specifically recidivism and employment outcomes. However, not a lot of information is shared about the impact of programming inside the prison walls. This presentation will discuss the data and how programming is security’s secret weapon. Learning Objectives: • Obtain knowledge of the impact programming has on incarcerated people’s behavior. • Understand the impact programming has on security. • Analyze the information given and apply it to their own practices.
