A large number of justice-involved individuals reside in these correctional facilities, and it can be

difficult to enforce social distancing and other mitigation efforts in this congregate setting. This workshop will inform and provide COVID-19 vaccine education for health professionals and justice-involved individuals to increase awareness and decrease spread of COVID-19 within correctional facilities and the community. Participants will be able to access information to improve knowledge and responsiveness to COVID-19 and available vaccines. Learning Objectives: • Reinforce confidence in the decision to get vaccinated. • Improve the condition of patient care by increasing health professionals’ knowledge of COVID-19. • Navigate the health care challenges in COVID-19 management in the correctional population. • Apply execution strategies to provide continued education for COVID-19 vaccine patient knowledge. To address this gap, it makes sense to use the one resource that is abundant inmates. However, simply handing an inmate a curriculum or even giving them permission to write their own curriculum does not result in quality and efficacious programming.
