B-1E The Evolution of HIV Treatment and 340b Programs (CE, CME) Room 127A Track: Healthcare This presentation will provide a multidisciplinary overview of the evolution of HIV/AIDS treatment from its discovery as a new disease in 1981 until today. Concurrently, we will provide an overview of how the 340b drug program evolved as the need for funding treatment became more important over time. Tuberculosis to employees and inmates alike. TDOC works closely with the Tennessee Department of Health to ensure continuity of care for those individuals are diagnosed with active or latent TB. During this discussion, we will look at Interferon-Gamma Release Assay testing, why it is considered a better form of testing, and the advantages to utilizing this test specifically

for the inmate population. We will review TDOC’s guidelines for Tuberculosis screening from the intake process to yearly screenings. We will also explore the process from collection to receiving the results and discuss treatment options based on those results. Learning Objectives: • Identify the inmates that will require IGRA testing. • Report on the process of IGRA testing. • Explain the process of treatments based on the results of the IGRA.
