A-1B Transforming Team Communication: The 5 Voices Room 126A Track: Staff Training Everyone has a leadership voice; from the quietest to the most gregarious, we all have the ability to lead others. The problem: Most people do not know their leadership voice or how to use it. Some don’t have the self-awareness; others are insecure in their voice and have been told it’s unimportant and others overuse their voice and dominate the airwaves. The solution: The 5 Voices system is designed to help every individual discover their leadership voice and be empowered to use it effectively. Can you imagine a team of people who were self-aware, knew how to communicate and were able to bring their best to the table every day? What would that do for team and (in this case) prison culture? In short, a lot. Learning Objectives: • Recognize characteristics of each of the 5 Voices system. • Identify a foundational leadership voice. • Apply a practical tool, to enhance awareness of self and others. Moderator: Christina Mallory Chicoraske , Chief Visionary Officer, Oklahoma’s Office of Management and Enterprise Services, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Speakers: Sophie Preston , BA, Director of Training, The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Christina Mallory Chicoraske , Chief Visionary Officer, Oklahoma’s Office of Management and Enterprise Services, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
