E-2A Ethical Challenges During and After a Pandemic Room 132A Track: Staff Training Sponsored by the ACA Ethics Committee This workshop will focus on the critical decisions correctional administrators and health care professionals make during a pandemic, where they are often blamed or considered wrong regardless of the decisions they make. Ensuring an administrator has considered all the ethical challenges, security issues and health care and programmatic impacts on those incarcerated and the staff, is considered the safest course; easier said than done. This workshop will discuss those issues and raise the participants’ awareness of critical decision points. Learning Objectives: • Learn about critical ethical decisions administrators and health care professionals must traverse in a pandemic. • Consider the legal impact of those decisions and identify steps administrators can take to arrive at those decisions.
