This workshop will focus on the importance and benefits of becoming a Certified Corrections Professions (CCP), explain the different certification types and levels available, and break down the certification process. Learning Objectives: 1.Participants will be able to understand the benefits that certification brings to their agencies. 2.Participants will be able to learn about the different types of certifications offered. 3.Participants will be able to understand the process to becoming certified and maintaining certification through the recertification process. This presentation describes development and implementation of several successful adaptations including acuity-based chronic care guidelines, remote behavioral health staff consultations and follow-up, transformation of the traditional nursing sick call model to a provider-based urgent care model and implementation of automated medication administration systems. D-2C Expanding the Juvenile Separation Continuum Through the Lens of Adolescent Development Room 252 Track: Juveniles In December of 2021, the Ohio Department of Youth Services implemented a redesigned continuum for the use of juvenile separation. This not only included the application of new policy and procedures but also inspired a new philosophy of separation seen through the lens of adolescent development principles. Ohio’s redesign hinges on the creation of an expanded separation continuum that includes not only the use of separation as a response to acts of violence but also use for pro social and developmentally appropriate activities, violence prevention and the use of positive coping strategies. This workshop will highlight Ohio’s journey through policy change, training efforts, data gathering and lessons learned along the way! Learning Objectives: 1.Identify principles of adolescent development leading to an expanded continuum of separation. 2.Identify staff training approaches to increase staff buy in. 3.Review and discuss relevant data collection considerations.
