D-2A Strategies for Investigative Units in a Correctional Environment to Combat Contraband Introduction Room 239 Tracks: Prison/Jails Contraband in prisons and jails is a major security concern for correctional agencies. For example, drug use and the ways to get them inside has evolved and so must we. Drug exposures to corrections staff, and the rise in inmate overdoses in correctional facilities has to be addressed to provide a safe environment to both staff and inmates. This session will be an overview of tactics using a multidiscipline approach to reduce introduction. No one approach can be successful but using a layered approach may help. Learning Objectives: 1.Setting up investigative units in a correctional organization using a multidisciplinary approach. 2. A proactive approach to investigations. 3. Measuring a successful program.
