D-1C Use of Separation with Juveniles Room 252 Track: Juveniles The Ad-Hoc Committee on Use of Separation with Juveniles was established to review Juvenile Detention Facilities expected practices that promote compliance with changing standards of practice associated with the care and custody for juveniles and mentally ill juveniles in separation. The new expected practices aim to help facilities to increase understanding of the risk factors associated with placement of the mentally ill in separation, promote alternative sanctions and pre-emptive alternative housing and provide a safety and continuity of care plan for mentally ill juveniles released directly from separation to the community.
