The goal of this presentation is to highlight the CTE Programs in Louisiana prisons, and discuss methods used to ensure quality programming, industry standard compliance and workforce readiness. curriculum design, delivery, the training audience and training outcomes to develop recommendations to enhance correctional employees’ ability to succeed in their role as public safety partners. Findings and themes to date will be presented in this workshop, along with targeted strategies identifying staff workforce challenge areas and appropriate responses and resources. Learning Objectives: 1.Understand what components of traditional training academies can be enhanced for correctional leaders to fully realize positive outcomes through effective training academy structure and usage for all staff. 2.Reflect on how learning and delivery styles can be influenced to maximize resources and reach differing generations of learners. 3.Examine ways to further align and reinforce training academy activities with the expectations on current corrections staff that support an agency’s mission, goals, values and objectives.
