The major theme will be how the program was forced to evolve as the result of a class action litigation; how the litigation was managed and ultimately resolved; and the ongoing efforts to sustain success and compliance. Participants will gain knowledge on how Eighth Amendment violations impact dental care; the process by which policy and procedures are created; how data is used to monitor program compliance; how correctional dentistry integrates with other health care disciplines as well as with custody; details of the budgetary process; and more.
