East Mesa Detention Facility Description: The East Mesa Reentry Facility (EMRF) is a Type II medium security facility and rests on eight acres in south San Diego County near the Otay Mesa border crossing. It consists of six housing dormitories, recreation areas, a mess hall, several classrooms, counselor, medical, probation and administrative offices. The Sheriff’s Reentry Services Division is responsible for developing and providing services to meet the challenge of reducing recidivism through a coordinated comprehensive effort. EMRF is able to provide programs that focus on educational, vocational and psycho-social areas.

Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility

Description: The Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility (LCDRF) in Santee serves as the primary point of intake for women prisoners in San Diego County. LCDRF provides a greater range of housing options for inmates requiring segregation or special care for medical or mental health needs. With improved facilities and academic/ pre-employment classes, reentry services are another emphasis of LCDRF. Inmates will leave better prepared for successful reintegration to the community, lowering the chance of reoffending.
