put ideas into practice and forged them into reality. A major influencing factor in this plan is behavioral health, which drive significant aspects of the architectural solutions. The effects of this plan will not only positively influence persons in custody (PIC) but equally important, facility and civilian staff. Key NYC and Consultant representatives will hold a spirited discussion and provide a myriad of information with a focus on how progressive behavioral health tenets translate into good operational design. Learning Objectives: • Understand the industry-wide importance of addressing the psychological aspects of jail design and its effect on persons in custody, staff and visitors. • Acquire knowledge on the planning of a continuum of justice that includes diversion, custody, reentry counseling and community aftercare. • Evaluate and identify the potential to participate in a similar program and what level (operational or physical). those offenders struggling with Opioid Use Disorder while navigating parole. Statistics tell us that 80-90% of offenders being released from incarceration resume using opioids within the first 30 days of returning to their community. Arizona DOC has developed a program that provides an opportunity for individuals to take part in a substance abuse treatment program before being violated on parole and re-incarcerated. The presenters will provide a program overview of providing MAT to this offender population, lessons learned, and data around the program’s success. Learning Objectives: • Audience members will be provided an overview of how the Arizona Department of Corrections is responding to the opioid crisis and attempting to support offenders struggling with substance dependence. • The presenters will discuss the process of implementing Medication-Assisted Treatment into the Second Chance Center, program logistics, coordination of care, and lessons learned. • Workshop participants will be provided an in-depth analysis of outcomes associated with the Second Chance Centers along with statistical data overview of the Arizona MAT-PDOA Grant which serves other
