B-4H Working with Victim Services Providers: From MOUs to Hotlines Room 5A Negotiating a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with local victim advocates is a key part of establishing a strong victim services program for inmates. Some agencies
have even found ways to provide hotline services for emotional support, similar to what is available for people in the community. It can be challenging to set up inmate hotline services, but national models have emerged and will be highlighted during the session. While MOUs help to clarify what services are provided, and the roles and responsibilities for their provision, challenges to implementing those services will still arise. This session will explore common challenges and solutions to implementing victim services for incarcerated survivors once an MOU is in place.
