Work Release – formal arrangement sanctioned by law whereby an inmate/resident is released into the community to maintain approved and regular employment. Workers’ Compensation – statewide system of benefits for employees who are disabled by job-related injury. Work Stoppage – a planned or spontaneous discontinuation of work. The stoppage may involve employees or inmates, acting separately or in concert by refusing to participate in institutional activities. Youthful Offender – person under the age of criminal majority in the jurisdiction in which he or she is confined who has been charged and/or sentenced as an adult.
