Tools and Equipment
(MANDATORY) Written policy, procedure, and practice govern the control, inventory, and use of tools, culinary and medical/dental instruments and sup- plies (syringes, needles and other sharps).

Vehicles
5-ACI-3A-24 (Ref. 4-4197)
Written policy and procedure govern the use and security of institution vehicles.
Comment : Written policies and procedures should state the conditions under which inmates may drive vehicles. Responsibility and keys for certain vehicles may be as- signed to specific staff, but the pool of vehicles should be controlled by one person.

An annual safety inspection of all vehicles is conducted by qualified individ- uals in accordance with state statutes for any vehicle that is owned, leased, or used in the operation of the facility.
