Healthcare Luncheon addresses Hepatitis C in correctional settings T he annual healthcare luncheon took place in the Four Seasons Ballroom of the Colorado Convention Center on Monday August 25 th and it featured Dr.
Andrew Aronsohn, an Associate Professor at the University of Chicago Medical Center and Director of the Hepatology Fellowship Program. Ed McNeill, VP of Business Development, Cen turion introduced Dr. Aronsohn by saying “we truly appreciate the partnership that we have today.” “Hepatitis C is a curable disease, but sadly, even though we had a cure for over a decade, we see still way too many people who have the dis ease,” Aronsohn began. He went on to note that “The prevalence in prisons is significantly higher than in the general population — about 15%.” Aronsohn described some of the ways Hepati tis C has been diagnosed and treated in the past and then some of the new techniques he and his team have been developing.
