ACA Awards

ACA presents special awards at General Session A s part of the General Session at the honor of Tim Keohane, a longtime auditor who died while on an ACA audit. The Keohane Award is pre sented annually to an auditor in recognition of their superior contributions, professionalism, commit ment and leadership to the auditing and accreditation process. This year’s awardee was Lorena Singer. The Walter Dunbar Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions presented by the Ameri can Correctional Association. Walter Dunbar served as ACA’s president in the 60’s. His efforts were instrumental in setting high standards for correctional facilities, ensuring they met the criteria for safety, security, and incarcerate care. The award not only commemorates his legacy but also encourages ongoing excellence and dedica tion within the field of corrections. This year’s Dunbar Award winner was a special friend of the American Correctional Association, Mr. Thomas Stickrath. Finally, a brand-new award was presented. The Innovation at an Accredited Facility Corrections Award is conferred in recognition of a deserving program in a correctional setting serving adult or juvenile incarcerates that broadens the knowledge of successful programs, interventions throughout the American Correctional Association.
