General Session

Sprinting towards glory Olympians Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall share inspiring and uplifting story with ACA conference goers E xcitement was high as an overflow crowd filled the Tangerine Ballroom at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando for the 2025 Winter Conference a graduate of Aramark’s In2Work program. They participated in a baking competition and wrote about the experience:

“When we make positive choices like taking advantage of programs such as in2work you are given ingredients to switch our recipe and like the oven baking all the ingredients until the whole finished product shapes what we become.” “Like track and field, we are at our best when we collaborate and work together,” said Dr. Steven Helfand of Falcon who had the honor of introducing the speakers for the General Session Olympic and Paralympic Gold Medalists Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall. Wearing their Gold medals proudly, Tara and Hunter joined ACA President Denise Robinson on stage for an interview. President Robinson asked about the challenges he faced, and Hunter replied “I was born with a congenital birth defect where I couldn’t use my feet. Doctors told my parents that I’d never be

ACA President Denise Robinson opened the Session and introduced the color guard led by Eric Armstrong of the Orange County Dept of Corrections along with members of the Florida Department of Corrections, Miami Dade County Sheriff’s Office and the Seminole County Sher iff’s Office. Asst. Warden Shanya Williams of the Central Florida Reception Center in Orlando sang the National Anthem. Robinson then introduced Rev. Norma Gilliam of the American Correctional Chap lains Association from Pine Bluff, Arkansas who asked, “for a special prayer for all the corrections family to lift us up spiritually so we will go on and continue the work you have put in our hands.”
