Enthusiasm high at Winter Conference in National Harbor A n enthusiastic crowd gathered in National Harbor, MD in early January for ACA’s Winter Conference held at the Gaylord National Resort ACA 2024 Winter Conference Overview

and Convention Center. A busy first day saw the launch of ACA’s first symposium held in concert with a Win ter Conference, the Education in Corrections Symposium. Kicked off by an appearance by the Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona, the all-day event hosted numerous workshops, panel discussions and listening sessions all focused on the topic of educational challenges faced by those working in corrections. The event also featured a host of exhibi tors who gave participants the opportunity to discover new goods and services to aid them in their calling. As the symposium was going on, other con ference goers made their way to the first of what would be over 100 workshops presented by leaders in the corrections community.

Lunchtime on that first day also found a full house in Potomac Ballroom A attending the Health Care Special Session and Luncheon featuring guest speaker Dr. Neeraj Gandotra, MD Chief Medical Officer Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
