Accreditation Breakfast

Honorees feted at Accreditation Breakfast Hayes, Dunbar and Keohane Awards presented S everal achievements were bestowed at the Accreditation Breakfast held during the 153 rd Congress of Correction. The Delaware Department of Corrections Acting Commissioner Terra Taylor accepted the Global Eagle Award and the Lucy Webb Hayes Award on behalf of her system. The Global Eagle Award is presented to state correctional agencies that have achieved ACA accreditation across all facilities. The Lucy Webb Hayes Award recognizes agencies that achieve full ACA accreditation along with full compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Pete Grande accepted the Walter Dunbar award on behalf of Gary Hill of Lincoln, Nebraska. The Dunbar award is presented in recognition of superior contributions, professionalism, commitment and leadership to the auditing and accreditation process. Gary Hill was an internationally recognized expert in correctional matters. He served as an ACA auditor and on the ACA Commission on Accreditation for Corrections. He passed away on September 18, 2022. Marilyn “Lynn” McAuley was awarded the Keohane award. The Keohane Award is presented annually to an auditor in recognition of their superior contributions, professionalism, commitment and leadership to the auditing process. Marilyn McAuley was recognized for her outstanding work as an ACA auditor upholding ACA’s highest standards while mentoring those in facilities to be the best they could be. McAuley was also an outstanding trainer and mentor to many new auditors.

The Global Eagle Award and the Lucy Webb Hayes Award was accepted by Terra Taylor on behalf of the Delaware Department of Corrections.

Pete Grande, accepting the Walter Dunbar Accreditation Achievement Award, which was awarded to the late Gary Hill of Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Chairman's Keohane Award was presented to Marilyn "Lynn" McAuley.
