A very special guest serenades ACA members Country music superstar Rodney Atkins performs and opens up for ACA General Assembly

N ashville is known as “Music City USA.” Just a few blocks from the Music City Center lays the venerable Ryman Auditorium known as the “Mother Church of Country Music” and right across the street was the Country Music Hall of Fame. So, it was no surprise the special guest for the Congress of Correction in Nashville would be a country music superstar. As President Parker pointed out in his introduc- tion, Rodney Atkins has eight Top Five singles, six Number One singles and 1 billion career on-de- mand streams. Atkins was the second most-played male artist of the decade overall and his single

“Caught Up in the Country” spent a record 57 weeks on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Atkins came out along with his wife Rose Falcon saying he was honored to come and distract you for a minute. They proceeded to tear through a selection of his chart-topping greatest hits: Farmer’s Daughter, Caught up in the Country, Take a Back Road, I’ve Been Waiting for You and If You Are Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows.) After the show, President Parker joined Rodney Atkins in front of the ACA General Assembly crowd for an informal interview.
