Salvation Army Chaplain of the Year Chaplain Danny Croce (pictured left) with the Plymouth County Correctional Facility in Plymouth, Massachusetts, who has shared the love of God and his creative services, and who has demonstrated a willingness to improve the quality of life of men whose lives have been affected by imprisonment, was honored as this year’s Chaplain of the Year at the 58 th Annual Salvation Army Chaplain of the Year Luncheon on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. Aviation Ordnanceman First Class Shanta Brown , United States Navy, Sgt. Dustin Ow- ens , United States Marine Corps and Tech. Sgt. Jordan Hermes , United States Air Force, dis- tinguished themselves this year to be honored as Corrections Professionals of the Year. Military Corrections Committee Corrections Professional of the Year The Corrections Professional of the Year award went to several corrections professionals who distinguished themselves amongst their peers by performing duties significantly beyond that which is expected. They are consistently high- functioning young men and women who exhibit leadership skills and work habits causing them to be recognized from hundreds of their peers across the nation and, in some cases, the world. Volunteers of America Maud Booth Correctional Services Award Each year, Volunteers of America presents the prestigious Maud Booth Cor- rectional Services Award to honor a leader in the correctional field whose work demon- strates compassion and belief in the human potential of offenders and ex-offenders. Edward Dolan , Commissioner of the Mas- sachusetts Probation Service, and Edward E. Rhine , Director of Parole Release and Revocation Project under the Robina Insti- tute of Criminal Law and Criminal Justice at the University of Minnesota Law School, were given the award for their humanitarian leadership in the corrections field.
