Grand Prize Giveaway
California dreamin’ of winning big!
O ne of the most exciting parts of the ACA Winter Conference is the annual prize drawings that occur. This is a chance for conference attendees to win one of three different competitions. Winners were announced between Jan. 12 th and Jan. 14 th between various sessions and events. For the first time, our ACA Resource Center held its first ever cash prize drawing. There were three cash prize awardees this year, winning be- tween $20 and $100 dollars. The $20 winner was Nina Dozoretz, president of Dozoretz Group, LLC in New Mexico. Kevin Bianca, director of the Community Service Program for Hartford County, CT, won $30. Sean K. Smith, director of Investiga- tions for the Mississippi DOC won the largest cash prize of $100. After the success of the airline drawing from the 149 th Congress of Correction, the popular prize drawing was brought back for this
conference. This year’s winners were Robin Bell, a retired ACA auditor from Minnesota, and Shelby Pickerill, an accreditation administra- tor for the Colorado DOC. Pickerill even won her prize on the same day as her 35 th wedding anniversary. This year’s highly anticipated Grand Prize Giveaway was for a 10-day European Dream Tour, which included airfare, hotels, spending money and more. This highly coveted prize was awarded to Craig Smith of the Utah DOC. The runners- up were Gail Wise of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice and Dr. Crystal Brown-Voeltz of Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston, who were each awarded a $500 cash prize. Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and we hope you enter our contests in Cincinnati this summer.
