National Correctional Officers and Employees Week
“The heroes of corrections are those who work in our facilities, our jails, probation/parole offices, detention facilities, and juvenile centers. They work in a complex, unforgiving environment where job pressure and stress are the norm. They perform the often-thankless work of public safety because that’s what true heroes do.” — Tony Parker, President, American Correctional Association This year, words do not and can never fully express the challenging time corrections professionals have experienced. In fact, since last year’s National Correctional Officers and Employees Week, corrections pro - fessionals have fully encountered the viral juggernaut that still has its grip on the nation and the world. Far too many have fallen, but is that not an even more important reason to celebrate corrections professionals everywhere? To go to work and give your time, your talent and, in some cases, your all, is nothing short of mi- raculous in these times in which we all live. The American Correctional Association calls on villages, towns, cities, counties, states and our entire nation to pause, reflect, remember and honor these ‘true heroes’ — the men and women of corrections. With Our Unwavering Honor and Forever Respect,
Tony C. Parker President
