the corrections field. The summary is incredibly important because if the reader is not drawn in by the first few sentences then they may be less likely to attend. Workshops that are targeted toward juvenile justice need to be stated in such a way that attendees are aware and that the ex- pected target audience attends. The learning objectives tie into the summary but they also inform the audience of what they will take away from attending the workshop. There should be three learning objectives when submitting a workshop propos- al and each should be specific. The fourth item of the process is submitting an outline/abstract with the proposal. This includes the topic area, keywords, workshop summary, learning objectives and any referenc- es to literature used in APA format.

A maximum of three speakers and one moderator must be included in the proposal. The moderator cannot be listed as a speaker, and the speaker cannot be listed as the moderator. ACA membership is required for all speakers and the moderator. The moderator’s role is to introduce the speakers, ensuring that the attendees have filled out an evaluation form, and complet- ing the moderator evaluation form. The speakers engage the audience and conduct the workshop. Both roles are vital to the success of the workshop.
