ACA honors 2024 Award Winners D uring the General Session at the Nashville Congress of Corrections, ACA bestowed several prestigious awards for individual service and for outstanding institutions. First up was the Tim Keohane award. The
Keohane awards is presented annually to an audi tor in recognition of their superior contributions, professionalism, commitment and leadership to the auditing process in the past year. Patrick Firman was this year’s awardee, and he told the crowd he has “always been a fan of the accreditation process” and that he was “blessed to work with people who have been generous with their knowledge and their experience.” Next, the Walter Dunbar Award was present ed. The Dunbar Award acknowledges superior contributions professionalism, commitment and leadership in the auditing and accreditation process. This year’s Dunbar award went to Peter Grande. Grande said he was honored to receive this award who thanked “all you here who are part of the accreditation process.” Grande also praised the accreditation process for “having a safer facility and a better trained staff.” The Crystal Eagle Award is given in recogni tion of accrediting every component within the agencies area of responsibility and The Lucy Webb Hayes award is presented to the agency or program that has achieved both full ACA Accreditation and PREA compliance for every component within their area of responsibility. Both awards were presented to Shelby County, Tennessee. CT
