But they wanted profes sional perception and integrity also, a reputation that results from enduring the sacrifices and grow ing pains of the job. Individuals gain that kind of recognition and credibility from membership offer ings at ACA. Our organization has existed for 154 years, which gives legacy to professional corrections and law enforcement, and puts us in the forefront of shaping modern correctional best practices. It was gratifying to see its ideals lived out

by the professionals in our field in Virginia last summer. However, our membership outreach is beyond the classroom. The Association has purposefully reimagined its engagement with its membership and affiliates to ac commodate the diverse community of corrections. We offer access to research tools and unique publica tions like Corrections Today magazine, which you are reading now, that provide current information specific to the industry. The Association produces workshops, webinars, and conferences for our members’ growth and fulfillment. ACA will also launch an online social plat form called ACAConnect to expand member networking opportunities
