A-1D Organizing Chaos: Utilizing the PDSA Cycle to Review the Implementation of New Practices Track: Prisons Room 202-A Implementation is a regular part of a growing agency. Whether that implementation is with Evidence-Based Practices or with new policies and procedures, change and implementation is a constant for every agency. The Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle is a four-step model for carrying out change. This workshop covers the basic concept of the PDSA cycle with a practical application example of Oriana House’s implementation of Motivational Interviewing (MI) with our Drug Court Case management staff. Participants will walk away with a basic understanding of the PDSA cycle with respect to practical application in a corrections setting. Learning Objectives: • Understanding of the PDSA cycle as it relates to implementation. • How to apply the PDSA cycle through examining Oriana House’s MI implementation • Understanding the benefits and challenges of implementing a new Evidence-Based Practice

By providing real-life work experience, participants identify the soft skills impacting their ability to maintain gainful attachment to the workforce while developing the technical skills needed to compete in today’s job market.
